IMPORTANT NOTE: Please DO NOT remove the Albums from the Albums folder, or remove the Albums Folder from the EarSaver™ Sampler Folder. Doing so will keep EarSaver™ from working! Thank you!!
To Launch EarSaver and use the Futura Console:
1)- Launch EarSaver™ by double clicking on the EarSaver™ icon.
2)- If no Console is visible on screen, click on "Console" in the Menu bar and choose "Show Console". The included Futura console should now be on the screen.
3)- Click on "Console" on the menu bar, highlight "Hide Console" to hide the console.
4)- Clicking on the upper left box in the "drag bar" will also hide the console.
To use the console Window Shade function:
1)- Click the upper right button on the "drag bar" to collapse the console.
2)- Click the upper right button on the "drag bar" a second time to expand the console.
To Choose The Sampler Album:
1)- Click on "Album" in the menu bar and highlight "The Sampler Album".
To Choose a Track to Play:
1) - Click on the small rectangle button (with the arrow) located in the left side of the Track name window, highlight a Track then let go.
2)- Click on "Track" in the menu bar and highlight the Track you wish to hear.
3)- Press "Command- "+" to choose the next Track in the Album.
4)- Press "Command- "-" to choose the previous Track in the Album.
To Play a Track:
1)- Hit the large green Play/Pause button (>) on the console.
2)- Press "Command -P" on the computer Keyboard.
3)- Click on "Console" in the menu bar and highlight "Play".
To Pause a Track:
1)- Hit the large Yellow "Pause/Play" button (II) on the console.
2)- Press "Command -P" on the computer Keyboard.
3)- Click on "Console" in the menu bar and highlight "Pause".
To Stop a Track:
1)- Press the red "Stop" button on the Console.
2)- Press "Command-"." on the keyboard.
3)- Click on "Console" in the menu bar and highlight "Stop".
To Adjust the Volume:
1)- Moving the small green "Volume slider" (with the red number) to a higher number will increase volume, sliding it to a lower number will decrease volume.
2)- Press "Command- "0"to"9" to increase or decrease volume.
3)- Click on "Console" in the menu bar and highlight "Volume >" and choose a volume number.
To Change Preferences:
1)- Click on "File" in the Menu bar and highlight, "Preferences". A dialog box will appear.
2)- We suggest you leave "Stereo" and "Smoothing" on unless you are using an old Macintosh (68030, etc), or, if you experience a noticeable decrease in computer performance.
3)- We suggest you set "Resolution" to 16 Bit if available. This will be "grayed out" if your machine does not support 16 bit playback.
4)- We suggest you set "Quality" to "Standard 22Khz". This should yield sufficient quality unless you are using a premium set of external speakers. A setting of "High 44.1kHz will yield close to CD quality, especially if "Resolution" is set to 16 bit.
5)- "Miscellaneous" settings can be changed to suit your particular needs and should be self explanatory.
IMPORTANT!!- EarSaver™ was designed to play "in the background". Please set the volume so that the sound is just audible over the noise of your fan and hard drive. Studies have shown that this will yield the most pleasurable EarSaver™ experience.
